The story of Jarrod, a ferret who had his heart set on the beautiful Princess Amalie, was well known to all children in the kingdom of Genovia. Princess Amalie had made it clear that she would not consider marrying a ferret, so Jarrod decided to go find another princess who might take him. But when he was sent to fetch the Princesses Zena and Tara, they both said no. He was unsuccessful with all but one.
The last princess who would say yes was named Celeste. Of course, Jarrod went to her castle and laid before her that he was the ferret destined to be married to Princess Amalie. When Celeste looked into his heart, she saw that he truly loved the Princess Amalie and would do anything for her.
So she gave him a kiss on his cheek and told her mother what had happened. The mother went straight to the king and told him that if his daughter married this ferret she would be disgraced and disinherited. The king asked what should be done about this.
The mother suggested that they act as though nothing had happened, even send Jarrod to Genovia with Celeste as if they were just traveling on their honeymoon. The king agreed and told Jarrod that he must go back to Genovia with Celeste as if nothing had happened between them romantically or at least pretend so well that everyone should believe it. They did this for six months until the wedding day when Jarrod went before Celeste and said "Your Highness I come before you today as though nothing ever happened between us romantically or at least pretend so well that everyone should believe it." Then he kissed her on the lips and took her away from the palace with both bride and groom unaware of what went on behind closed doors.
They lived happily ever after in their new home together forever making love in an old water tower.
